Aside from just being a great time saver, the “Jump Lists”also has even more clever uses which are taken advantage by power users making it a more powerful tool in providing accessibility to the different locations and stuff stored in your hard drive. These lists are geared towards providing easy access to your important files in just a few simple clicks and spare you from the long process of searching for specific documents and folders which you need to get access to right away. Application windows snap to the top and sides of the screen by just moving them to the edges.įolders and files can be grouped together in a high-level "Library" structure and indexed for fast searches (see Windows Libraries).Windows 8 is packed with all the features that you would need in managing all the stuff that are saved in your machine but no other feature will help you take full control of your files than the “Jump List”. Another improvement was quick window placement. Developers can also add Jump Lists to their apps to display commonly used functions. When an application is open, right clicking its icon in the Superbar displays a list of the last files worked on. Jump Lists provide a "most recent file" capability.

The Superbar is used to show open applications as well as launch new ones, and icons can be rearranged, whereas they were fixed in previous versions. Windows 7 introduced the "Superbar," a taskbar somewhat like the Dock in the Mac. Multitouch capability was added, but compatible touchscreens are required to take advantage of the feature. See Windows 7 versions, Windows 8 and Windows 10.
